🌲 Technician – Forest & Ground Care Equipment

📍 Location: Elgin, Scotland
🕒 Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday–Friday)
💷 Salary: Negotiable, discussed at interview

On behalf of our client, a leading machinery and equipment hire business, EquallyPlaced is recruiting a skilled and motivated Technician to join their busy workshop team in Elgin. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with mechanical and electrical knowledge who enjoys working hands-on with specialist equipment including Honda ATVs, professional groundcare tools, and garden machinery.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs to company standards
• Service and maintain a range of forest and ground care equipment (2-stroke, 4-stroke, quads, mowers, etc.)
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections and equipment setups as per manufacturer guidance
• Maintain accurate service records, timesheets, and job tickets
• Order parts and quote customers where required
• Ensure workshop cleanliness and tool security at all times
• Provide occasional support to other branches and attend emergency call-outs during working hours
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any issues

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Relevant vocational qualification (e.g., SVQ, City & Guilds, HND/HNC)
• Experience working with small engines, ATVs, lawnmowers, and groundcare tools
• Solid mechanical and electrical repair knowledge
• IT literate and able to use diagnostic tools and systems
• Great communicator with problem-solving mindset
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team
• Flexible approach to work, open to change and travel between branches
• Full UK driving licence essential
