Overview
Equally Placed Ltd – Search and Select is delighted to partner with a respected industrial supplies business to recruit a skilled and dependable Service Technician for their operations in Inverness. This is a hands-on role ideal for a mechanically and electrically competent professional who thrives in a workshop environment and takes pride in maintaining and servicing equipment to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities

Inspect, clean, and prepare hire equipment for re-hire in line with internal procedures.

Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs of mechanical and electrical equipment to departmental and company standards.

Conduct pre-delivery inspections and ensure readiness of equipment.
-
Operate equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safe operating procedures.
-
Identify parts and materials required for maintenance and repairs; raise internal requisitions as required.

Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including job sheets, timesheets, and service logs.

Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the workshop, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.

Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety protocols and policies.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues promptly.

Support in general workshop duties and contribute to team-wide improvements and operational efficiency.

Perform any other tasks reasonably assigned by the line manager in line with the role.
Person Specification
Essential:
-
Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance or servicing.
-
A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
-
Sound understanding of workshop safety and maintenance protocols.
-
Customer-focused with good communication skills when dealing with clients and internal teams.
-
Flexible attitude towards additional training and development opportunities.
Desirable:
-
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in mechanical/electrical engineering.
-
Previous experience in a plant hire, industrial tools, or equipment servicing environment.
